About

Human existence is characterized by life and death. We can have good life and prosperity, and we can can also encounter calamities and sufferings throughout the course of our lives. Many former football players in Ethiopia have unfortunately encountered and are currently facing difficult conditions in life. From hearing the echoes of the loud cheers of their supporting fans, they now hear the empty echoes of a harsh life – anonymous, faceless and in many cases homeless.

Based on our cherished tradition of mutual help association, we Ethiopians residing in North America, involved in playing football and in supporting sport activities, have resolved to establish this mutual help association in North America, hereby named North America Ethiopian Soccer Players and Supporters Association (NAESPASA). The Association’s primary objectives are to collect funds to nurse the sick back to health, to provide temporary shelter to the homeless, and to enable these former players to acquire various vocational and business training to support themselves and their families. NAESPASA also has a long-term objective of establishing its own football academy in Ethiopia.
